This past weekend, my buds and I, drove down to Pintops, North Carolina to 1) support our bud as he signed and promoted his book and 2) to support another friend who created an awesome organization to reach back to rural communities by uniting them and exposing them holistically.
The drive down was pretty long because we were headed to Va Beach as opposeĀ towards Rocky Mount. But our driver and writer extraordinaire, Jason Reynolds, was a beast and took everything in stride.
The best part about the trip was seeing the kids get their free book signed by a young author and having a chance to chat and connect with him in general. Also its just cool, to see our babies have fun. The bad part about the trip was it rained and I had on my new kicks on AND they had no food for vegetarians. Overall, much respect to Q and BeGlobal for reaching back. So many people talk about doing, but she is. Much Respect.

Check out the picture behind us. Its the class of 1967 of george washington carver high school in Pinetops. Kia and I took some time to point out who in the class thought they were cute, who got picked on, and who was the player. Good times. I know, its so hard being awesome.
but soo easy being silly

My self created vegetarian meal: hot dog bun with cheese, chips, onions, ketchup, and mustard. Not to mention cake and blueberry muffins up top. This may be the reason I am sick while I am typing.
I think this is what the kids call these days the “stinky leg”, not sure though.

My job was to volunteer at the notebook and pencil table. I think I did a good job or at least they did.
