teaching the youth

So the fall college semester has already begun and here in the City University of NYC system, this is the second week. Last week I met my students in two sessions of my western civilization course. We talked about ancient civilization and the impact that the Israelite religion had on current day Monotheism.

It was a very interesting time and I also probably shared some scholarly truths in regard to religion that may have shook them up a bit. But this week, its about Homer and Greece. Let’s see how this will go. Until then, Im reading and preparing a lecture and also writing some articles, reconnecting with old friends, visiting some galleries, eating doritos, and trying to rest my mind with retro video games(ie. nintendo). Geesh life is soooo busy.

oh and big ups to my younger bud of over 8 years, Sheri Booker, who started teaching college english in Baltimore yesterday. Welcome to the club Homie.

Why am I just seeing this post? I hope this semester is even better than your last. I can’t wait until I attend one of your lectures at Harvard or Yale or MSU:).
