Last night I visited the new museum on Bowery Street. They have a new exhibit up of former black panther: emory douglas. Emory joined the black panthers the year they started their newspaper. From there he served as minister of culture and used his art to spread the black panther message on newspapers, flyers, and posters. His style was unique for that time and is still admired today.
The exhibit will continue until October 18, 2009. Please take a visit, you won’t regret it. Oh and Thursday nights from 7-9pm is free.
