The art of moving on according to Corrine Bailey Rae

January 20th, 2010

Its hard to go on after someone you love passes. Its been 3 years now since my mother passed away and I’m still trying to master the art of living with grief, moving on, and fulfilling my dreams without her being in the audience. Some time back, new star Corrine Bailey Rae lost her husband after the appearance of her debut album. We haven’t seen her in a while, but shes back and like me and a host of others, striving to master the art of living despite losing love.

The New York Times has an very interesting article on her and I thought it was worth sharing and reading. She is back with a new album called “Sea” to debut next week. So Check it out here written by Melissa Maerz. Until you do, below is a little excerpt.

Over dinner at a Lower East Side restaurant, wearing another sophisticated jumpsuit, she noted that fans have been especially vocal about their support lately, though she wasn’t sure if they were even aware that she’d lost her husband. “For a while I was afraid that everyone would know and ask me about it,” she admitted in a thick Leeds accent that’s barely noticeable when she sings. “But then it was weird whenever nobody knew about it and nobody asked. It’s shocking when people treat you like everything’s normal when everything’s changed.”
