So I was strolling off of Fulton Street this weekend and bumped into a new mural, a “In memory mural” if you will. My neighborhood of Bedstuy has several. I don’t know if that means that we are constantly dieing at higher rates than others or if it just shows that we as a culture have a great respect for our ancestors and want to continue to remember them.
I thought this mural collection of ancestors were quite interesting. Of course there is Tupac beside Biggie, but check out Michael Jackson with Issac Hayes, Bernie Mac with Richard Pryor, and Redd Foxx with James Brown.
